Super model asal Inggris Kate Moss dikenal sebagai dengan bayarannya besar. Seperti dilansir The Sun, Senin (7/3/2011), Moss memiliki pendapatan sebesar Rp 172 milyar pada 2010 lalu, atau Rp 472 juta dalam satu harinya.

Karier Moss dimulai ketika dirinya menjadi model majalah The Face. Saat itu ia berpose di balik bidikan kamera fotografer fashion, Corinne Day. Saat pertama kali Moss menjadi cover majalah Vogue, Corinne juga yang menjadi fotografer untuknya.

Menurut majalah Sunday Times Rich List, model bernama lengkap Katherine Ann Moss itu ditaksir memiliki kekayaan senilai 45 juta poundsterling pada 2007. Di tahun yang sama, majalah Forbes juga memasukkan namanya sebagai model dengan pendapatan terbesar kedua di dunia.

Selain berlenggak-lenggok di catwalk, model kelahiran 16 Januari 1974 itu juga pernah menjadi model video klip ‘Dont Go Away’ milik Oasis pada 1998 silam.

Kesuksesannya di dunia model membuat Moss sering bergaul dengan masyarakat kelas atas. Ia juga terkenal amat menyukai pesta dan kehidupan glamour.

Pada 2005 model yang pernah memperagakan busana Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana dan Calvin Klein itu tersandung masalah. Ia tertangkap kamera sedang menghisap lima garis heroin yang dihabiskan dalam waktu 40 menit.

Kabar yang beredar, mantan manajer Moss bernama James Mullord yang menjual foto tersebut ke media untuk membeli heroin. Foto itu dijual seharga 150 ribu poundsterling atau saat ini sekitar Rp 2,14 miliar.

Untuk urusan asmaranya, Moss dikenal sering gonta-ganti pacar. Pada 1990, ia sempat berpacaran dengan Mario Sorrenti dan aktor Johnny Depp.

Pada 2002, ia melahirkan seorang putri hasil hubungannya dengan Jefferson Hack. Moss juga sempat bertunangan dengan musisi Pete Doherty pada April 2007, namun
kemudian putus.

Pada Maret 2008, Moss berpacaran dengan gitaris band The Kills, Jamie Hince. Kabarnya mereka telah melangsungkan pernikahan secara diam-diam di Pulau Sisilia, Italia, 7 Agustus 2010 lalu. [Sumber: detikHot]

Lindsay Lohan dibujuk berpose telanjang untuk sebuah buku fotografi. Lohan yang baru saja selesai menjalani rehabilitasi kecanduan minuman keras itu sudah menandatangani kontrak sebesar Rp 44 miliar untuk aksi tersebut.

Terry Richardson, seorang fotografer Amerika Serikat lah yang berusaha membujuknya.

“Lindsay sedang berjuang untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan lain di Hollywood. Ada stigma yang melekat untuk bekerja dengan dia dan dia bertekad untuk perubahan ini, dimulai dengan buku fotografi,” begitu kata sumber yang dilansir Showbiz Spy, Selasa (1/3/2011).

“Terry Richardson telah membujuk Lindsay dan James untuk terlibat,” lanjut sumber tersebut.

Masih menurut sumber tersebut, buku fotografi yang berisikan foto syur Lindsay ditargetkan akan mengalahi popularitas buku fotografi yang berisikan foto syur Madonna di tahun 1992.

Berikut adalah Piala Oscar dan sejarahnya. Academy Award atau disebut juga piala Oscar adalah penghargaan film paling terutama di Amerika Serikat. Piala Academy Award dijuluki Oscar ketika seorang pustakawan Academy Margaret Herrick melihatnya di sebuah meja dan mengatakan, “kelihatan persis seperti pamanku Oscar!”.

Nama tersebut tetap melekat dan kini digunakan seumum nama Academy Award sendiri, bahkan oleh pihak Academy sendiri. Bahkan situs web Academy berada pada oscars.org dan situs web Penghargaan Academy Award berada pada www.oscars.com.

Academy Award bermula di Hollywood sekitar tahun 1927 dan merupakan suatu acara pemberian penghargaan atas kerja keras anggota Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, yaitu asosiasi professional pekerja film. Kelompok ini memerlukan semacam piala untuk acara pemberian hadiah saat makan malam. Diceritakan, pada saat itulah istilah Oscar muncul.

Seorang pembuat patung dari Los Angeles melihat sebuah patung ksatria yang berdiri di atas gulungan film dengan pedang di tangannya. Patung ksatria pertama kali dibuat menggunakan perunggu. Dan sekarang Oscar terbuat dari logam campuran, britanium, dan dilapisi emas. Tingginya 34,3 cm dan beratnya 3,8 kg.

Alasan mengapa Oscar yang dipakai sebagai nama dari piala penghargaan tersebut masih belum jelas. Salah satu cerita menyebutkan bahwa patung ksatria terlihat mirip dengan seorang pustakawan academy yang biasa mereka panggil Paman Oscar.

Berdasarkan kemiripan itu, para anggota academy mulai menyebut Oscar kecil sebagai nama patung ksatria itu. Pada tahun keenam presentasi, kolumnis merujuk pada apa yang para staf sebut sebagai Academy Award of Meritas menjadi Oscar. Staf Academy memakai nama kecil ini pada tahun 1939.

Semua yang dimulai pada saat makan malam yang dihadiri 270 anggota tersebut berubah menjadi suatu tradisi yang berskala internasional yang tak kurang dari 6000 anggota academy menghadirinya.
